Preparation typically includes cleaning, repairing defects, sanding where necessary and applying a suitable primer. Proper preparation often determines the success of the finished job.

Some DIY epoxy systems are available, but achieving a professional finish requires careful surface preparation, moisture testing and correct application techniques. Larger projects are often best completed by experienced installers.

Epoxy coatings rely on strong adhesion to the concrete surface. Grinding, cleaning and repairing the substrate helps ensure long-term performance and reduces the risk of coating failure. IMPORTANT: Minor cracks and defects can often be repaired before coating. A site assessment can determine the best preparation and repair approach.

Most projects require two top coats for optimal coverage, colour consistency and durability. Some colours and surfaces may require additional coats.

Drying times vary depending on the product, temperature and humidity. Always follow the manufacturer’s recommendations listed on the product label.

When properly installed and maintained, epoxy flooring can provide many years of service in residential, commercial and industrial environments.
